BBAW: Community

Today’s daily topic for Book Blogger Appreciation Week: Community! My post explaining BBAW.

From the BBAW website: “highlight a couple of bloggers that have made book blogging a unique experience for you. They can be your mentors, a blogger that encouraged you to try a different kind of book, opened your eyes to a new issue, made you laugh when you needed it, or left the first comment you ever got on your blog. Stay positive and give back to the people who make the community work for you.”

These are always so, so hard for me. I know I’m going to leave people out. So I’m going to limit it to four.

In no particular order:

All the great bloggers who are part of the Kidlitosphere. (well, it’s one way to cover everyone, no?)

Read Roger, aka Roger Sutton, of the Horn Book. Please note the new URL: http://www.hbook.com/category/blogs/read-roger/ Because when many people were looking at blogs, and bloggers, as, well, timewasters at best, Sutton’s blogging gave legitimacy to blogging. Use your own name! Speak your mind! Have a voice!

Chasing Ray, aka Colleen Mondor, because she makes me think and makes me push myself to be a better blogger.

The Book Smugglers, because their reviews make me think. I’ve disagreed with them a time or two, but heck, I’ve disagreed a time or two about books with pretty much everyone I know. I like not that they like the books I like (though that’s a plus), but that they write fabulous reviews, whether or not they like a book.

  1. These favorite posts are always so difficult! I wouldn’t be able to effectively choose a small number. I’d be all…oh, but what about….oh man, I can’t leave out….

    These are all great blogs!
